How Much Do You Need a Month to Travel the World?

I stopped teaching English in the middle of 2009. By then I was making enough money from text links, these side websites. How much do most people need a month to be able to travel freely for indefinite period of time? Definitely 50 bucks a day according to my book. If they can make $1,500 a month doing something, they can travel the world.
