The Battle of Okahizama
In June 1560, the Imagawa army was encamped by a narrow gorge. Nobunaga's men took up positions overlooking the Imagawa forces and then readied an attack. The Battle of Okahizama is often described as a turning point in Japanese history. It was the battle that made Nobunaga. He went from a relatively minor dameo to one of the most renowned and respected warlords in all of Japan with this display of strategic and tactical brilliance.
