Why Do We Overvalue Our Introspections?

We ascribe greater weight to our own introspections than maybe we should. But on the other we discount the introspections of peoples. We think we're being rational, that we're choosing the candidate based on rational decision making and rational analysis. But really what we're doing were rationalizing, really actually, there's other factors that have determined which candidate we prefer. And then after the fact, we rationalize it by coming up with what seem like rational reasons. It feels like our evaluations of ourselves and others is shaped by these dual forces....
