A Song Cycle About Adolescence

The first song on the new album is called "Buddy" It's about a high school friend who got busted for trying to buy weed. He was really into rage against the machine, and I had this funny image of him in jail. The contrast between how upbeat the music feels against some of the details in the lyrics makes it feel kind of sorrowful almost.
