I think that I'm totally on board with you as verification and validation, as a really strong trust mechanism. Like a smart decomposition of the task that you want the algorithm to learn is something that I certainly don't find controversial. We actually sneak in some domain knowledge to give the algorithm kind of a head start on what we actually want it to learn rather than having it learn everything from scratch. And so indeed it's gray, there's no black and white.
