"I grew up in a time where we had to listen to cassette tapes, then CDs. And actually, early on, I played with steel playing records or whatever," he said. "Now you can literally just punching up a CD and you're recording in on your phone and listen to that record." He says 90% of the musicians that listen to music don't have no idea who the musicians are that they're listening to.
We often don't give space and energy to listen to what is not being said and instead focus on what we hear, our expectations and what we have "practiced" without paying attention to others or the space in between. This can cause a lot of misunderstandings and performance is often lowered.
