The Importance of Morality

The Gospels were written after Jesus' death to spread the new faith that had grown up around him. The original Jesus never endorses the law of Moses, can't really be described as an Orthodox Jew, but he's more like an Eastern sage. He wants to break with law morality and have instead a morality that flows direct from the human heart.
