Air Traffic Controllers Executed a Herculean Order on September 11, 2001

Bob Greene: September 11 was such a terrible, tragic day that it's hard to even consider the possibility that it could have been worse. He says air traffic controllers quickly implemented an order no one has ever given before or since. The Herculean work of air traffic controllers meant that all but the four hijacked planes landed safely he says. Greene: This has been one of the darkest days in America and it is not yet over.
