How Do We Love Our Enemies?

When we think about persecution, or if we take it down to a personal scale, loving the enemy certainly didn't mean condoning the wrongdoing that the enemy was doing. Christians don't have to sort of just lie down and do nothing about being persecuted. It means saying what is wrong as St. Maria Geretti did for those who might persecute us. And in fact, standing up for the truth is part of that love. Love can involve suffering and making sacrifices. Above all, it involves praying for the good of our enemies, praying for conversion, praying for grace,. praying that we can one day be friends, that is united in love.
