Caroline Owens - A Memoir
Fred West had a criminal history that included allegedly raping his sister. The magistrates ultimately decided that his previous offenses were irrelevant to the Caroline Owens case. They felt Fred was a dosa man who did not look capable of violence. As for Rose, she had no history of offending. It was also revealed that she was pregnant with her third child. Both Fred and Rose were fined just £50 each and advised to receive psychiatric help. Neither did. Meanwhile, Caroline required medication and struggled to trust others,. She later attempted to take her own life.
