Introduction
Dr. Anika Prather is an English professor at Howard University and founder of Living Water School, a classical Christian school in southern Maryland. She's written two books on the lived experiences of African American students reading great books, literature, and the black intellectual tradition with Dr. Angel Parham. We're excited to be talking about our first American work from the canon, the narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass and American slave.
