Is There a Treatment That Can Prevent Progression From Asophogal Adno Carcinoma Beyond Surveillance?
Treatment for the underlying reflux symptoms is achieved by using proton pump inhibitors. Endoscopic treatment has been shown to prevent progression to invasive sophigal adno carsonoma. The push in terms of research now is, should we screen more? Should we look at ways to improve risk stratification so that we can capture patients without having a prior diagnosis of bertosophagus.
