Rust was what taught me what a pointer was. It's this technology that has, in the worst case, like a very horrific learning curve. I look at my Python, and I'm like, what on earth are you doing? And now that I program a reasonable amount in Rust, it really matters to me. We know that because we have community surveys which have a section for people that have actually still interested in the language, but have decided that they are not part of thelanguage.
In this supper club episode of Syntax, Wes and Scott talk with Tim McNamara, author of Rust in Action about what Rust is, how to get started learning Rust, and ideas of good projects to begin learning Rust with.
