Sally Kohn: I was raised by a single mom. My dad was in jail. He had an addiction problem. So for me, I had a lot of instability. And then I got to start dreaming again in my twenties when I realized like, okay, not every family is like that and I can create the family I want to have. She says she's trying to teach her kids how to be critical thinkers so they don't just know how to do tasks but think about problems head on. "I'm teaching them anything you want to do, you know, and I teach them the numbers"
