The Importance of Communication

Most of our daily news is inert consisting of information that gives us something to talk about but cannot lead to any meaningful action. The contribution of the telegraph to the public discourse was to dignify irrelevance and amplify impotence. Painting is at least three times as old as writing, if we all built castles in the air it would be okay. Let the image and the world have different functions work at different levels of abstraction and require different modes and of response will not come as a new idea to anyone.
