The Relationship Between Case Studies and Theories

My conception of multiculturalism is an explicitly liberal one. I evaluate claims for minority rights on the basis of what I take to be core, liberal values. Many claims that groups might make do not enhance individual freedom or equality of life chances and democratic participation. In which case they're not compatible with the liberal democratic constitution and I'm not interested in defending them.
