The Slipperiness of Fear and Love
This juxtaposition between fear and love, that is a new age keynote. Eisenstein took notice enough to base his own follow up on this very point. And it's called the conspiracy myth. Since the threat of infectious disease, like the threat of terrorism, never goes away, not really, control measures can easily become permanent. If we were going in this direction anyway, the current justification must be part of a deeper impulse.
