The History of Semi Conductors in Cars

i thought it might be interesting to kind of look back on the history of electronic systems and computer chips in cars. In the very early days of automobiles, there was no such thing as a semi conductor chip. Semi conductors really just means it's a material that can act either as a conductor or an insulator. But by the late 19 forties, you had some smarty pants folks over at bell laboratories inventing transistors. Now the transistors used semi conductor material to fulfil the same basic functions as vacuum tubes.
