When i was 12 or 13, i asked the satoi what the world might look like if the mathematicians were in charge? I do think it would probably be a much better place. It's worth pointing out that napoleon was one leader who was quite inclined toward mathematics. He is often credited with having discovered a geometric theorem related to equilateral triangles.
