#164 How to plan a maths lesson with Craig Latimir

Mr Barton Maths Podcast

CHAPTER

Structure for Routine Lessons

There are seven potential purposes of a do now that I see and I'm going to see if I can retrieve these. So one is just to settle, just to settle the kids down so they're ready to learn. Another is potentially to engage them, so something to make them think, oh, this is interesting blah blah blah. A retrieval starter so it will not be related to what's going on in the rest of the lesson but it's just to make sure kids don't forget things. And then the final one is to kind of respond, I think this is an interesting one so perhaps kids have done a test last lesson and the start of this lesson is responding to that.
