The Biggest Contributor to Inflation Is the Cost of Living

The biggest contributor to inflation is food and non alcoholic beverages. 80% of the overall inflation figure is due to the rise in the cost of energy. Food and energy are things tha comprises really big parts of the disposable income of people on lower incomes. And obviously we've mentioned the strikes briefly, but it does look like there are going to be more strikes down the line,. particularly in the public sector. Nurses and teachers, i think their unions have been saying to industrial action, emma, what can the government do about this? Theyre trying to preach restraint in terms of asking for a pay rise. It could also be seen as a political decision.
