The Dangers of Smoking on Aircraft

In October of 2015, the United States Department of Transportation ended all types of in-flight smoking when it prohibited the use of electronic cigarettes. In July 2019, an air China aircraft made an emergency descent after cabin oxygen levels dropped, which had been linked to a co-pilot smoking an e-cigarette during the flight. A person may be arrested and removed from a flight for smoking or vaping, unless there was more to the incident, they'll only be a fine imposed. On some international flights, depending on the destination country, a person could be arrested upon arrival and put into jail.
