The History of the Sophists
The Sophists, like the Physiologoy, challenged conventional beliefs. They were state-sanctioned nomos that forbade things like burglary. Aspasia of Melitus is believed to have been one of the first women to engage in private and public rhetoric instruction as a kind of Sophist. Even youths who only studied rhetoric would still learn from a good Sophist.
