The Shirt Was Just One Brick in the Foundation
David Owen did not lie to the grand jury. He did not know at the time of his testimony and neither did the state AG's office that a superfluous test had been done on the shirt after it had already tested positive for presumptive blood. It was likely done in an attempt to be thorough, but it instead left this door open to the defense. There is all this other evidence in the case. The shirt was just one brick in the foundation, not the entire foundation. His mother had died the day before. Jim's cross-examination of him was rough. It was clear Owen didn't have any fight left in him.
