The History of Carpar Boxes

cardboard was invented in 1817 when some Malcolm Thornehill started using thick sheets of paper to make boxes. Valreas, Provence is the historical capital of French cardboard and has a Carpar box museum. If that's true it means theoretically Jane Austen could have used a cardboard box because that was the year she died 1817.
