The Indifference of the Drive Relative to Its Sources
Lacan makes a big deal about the indifference of the drive relative to its objects. And that is in Freud as well. But if we read this a little more closely to the human form, I would say that there are some guardrails on this indifference. The vicissitudes of the drive, the variability that a drive can allow for in terms of object selection,. It's much smarter than what we have from Lacan and Freud on this to think very closely about the connection between the object and the source.
