Is the Government's Plan to Scrap the Five Year Rule?
The general medical council has welcomed and supported the vast majority of proposed reforms. But some proposals have been less popular r all received less support. One proposal is that grounds for action in fitness to practise cases should be reduced just to two categories one beingi onduct, and the other being lack of competence. The g m c points out that it's ot really fair to stigmatize a sick doctor, a doctor with ill health, as one who lacks competence.
