Jeff Bezos took a year to raise one measly million dollars over 60 meetings, ultimately from 22 different investors. If it was an option for him to call David and shortcut that, you would think he would have. At the end of the day, none of this matters because I am 100% convinced there would be no Amazon if Jeff had stayed at D.E. Shaw.

Amazon. No company has impacted the internet — and all of modern life — more than this one. We’ve waited seven years to do this episode, and are so, so excited to finally dive into every nook and cranny of this legendary company.
