Is Apple Going to Scan All iPhones for Child Sexual Abuse Material?
Apple announced last week that it was not going to scan all iPhones for child sexual abuse material or CSAM images prior to those images being backed up to iCloud. A lot of cryptographers and other observers since Apple's announcement have said this makes a lot of sense because they're going to offer an encrypted backup option. And so what Apple had decided to do and they have now said that this plan is dead is that they were going to scan on the client side as images are uploaded to iCloud from your photo roll.
