The Importance of Tests in Product Development

I really believe that reserving some time in the planning session before executing the tests just to discuss how you test that solution is important. I wonder like some companies that I have chatted, they sometimes discuss the point of balancing feature requests versus tech depth. Most places aren't there and it's usually not a mystery to know when you need more tests,. If talk to 10 different organizations, chances are that 9 out of 10 need fewer tests than necessary.
