Lucy Dewberry was loaned out to 20th Century Fox without even consulting her. In the 1940s, a loan out like this is the kiss of death and basically means that she's done at MGM. After Dewberry was a lady, Lucy made four more musical comedies and a romantic comedy. But none of them was as financially successful as Dewberry.
