If we got rid of the jones act, i think there wod be more ships in our waters. That means more opportunitiys to repair ships. And if he had more ships, that means more mariners too. I don't see that happening any times soon. But i do think there are some compromises that can be made. If someone wants a ship something, point eight, a, point b, and there's no american ship, you can use a foreign ship. We already do this. There's omething caled te maritime security programme that gives 60 ships five point two million dollars per year. These ships are all foreign built ships that engage an international trade
