The Importance of Balance in Parenting
In my view, kids aren't supposed to be your friends because the job is too big to worry about whether they like you or not. They want boundaries and authority. And if we get pushed a little bit and we cave, well, then we're giving them no foundation. So I urge young people who are thinking about having kids: Think about why you're having kids.
