30 by 30 pledge is a series of know and low cost actions that police departments can take immediately to improve the way they support women. Police chiefs knew their agency didn't adequately support men and non white officers, but did not know how to start addressing it. "What we've done is really create a space and a movement that people can be a part of with a really clear framework for how to achieve the change that's needed"

Police departments across the US are signing a pledge to increase the share of women in their ranks, hoping the move will help reduce excessive force by officers. Researchers say it’s not that simple.
