Outlander and Waverley
The name waverley was made up. It's clearly a play on the word waver to waver, back and forth. All members of the waverley family ultimately, in some way, make some deal to support the catholic stuarts. The estate that everard waverley owns is called waverley honor. So this newspaper, sort of in acute pun, says, there are many examples of thewavering honor,. In outlander, it's between the main character, clare's existing husband, frank, an english historian, and the idealized young highlander, jamie fraser.
