In 1986, 4,000 astrophysicists walk into a casino and nothing happens. They just knew that you're likely gonna lose. That's the whole business model of a casino. I hypothesize with very good evidence that our brain is simply not wired to think probabilistically or statistically about anything. It must not be native within us. And it's so not native that entire industries have arisen to exploit how non-native that thinking is. Why is it that probability is not taught in schools? As a fundamental, is an elective, it's called a lottery. In order to keep people buying tickets, they have to prevent you from understanding how bad your odds are.
