The Great Adventure

An entire generation rush off to this war because at the time it was marketed as the great adventure. People didn't think that they were going to go and die in trenches. And so you've got a whole bunch of young male servants going off to the war as well to fight on the front line. They could have never dreamed of leaving their small village. So almost, almost like how the adverts are on the TV for join the army. We still have that today, don't we?
