Umi: I don't have a problem with the idea of creating digital platforms that leverage the internet. My issue has always been with what i call social media universalism. And this is the idea that there would be a small number of social media platforms that every one would feel obligated to use. That was the state we ended up in not too long ago, when you had facebook, instagram, twitter,. A few other pretenders to the tr throne that would come and go that everyone felt like they had to use. This caused two big issues. One, that sense of obligation meant people were trapped or captured in services. They create the whole information context on whih our survival depends
