We learn and acquire languages at a different pace, it doesn't mean that that student is not trying their best. So be careful of comparisons. We want to be really specific with what we want the students to do. Say, try and do five minutes per day. What would be a good time when it would work for you? Oh, well, typically my mum drops me off in school, and i'm usually in the car for 20 minutes with her. Could you do it then? Ye, that would work. Or another student, o, i always get the bus to school, so could you do it just on the walk to the bus?"
