The Importance of Recanting

In the early church, there was a controversy called the Donatist heresy. The idea that a priest in the church could get out of it by just offering worship to other gods or denying Christ. But then so these some people would do that, then they would go and try to be priests again. And the Donatists would say, hey, no, you can never validly be a priest again. You can never be welcomed back. Your sin can never be forgiven. That's where we get the word traitor. So I don't think sorry of the long winded answer, but I don’t think that it would be a get out of jail free card"
