The Positive Impacts of the Measles Vaccine
In the first 18 years of its implementation, an estimated 48.4 million cases were averted and almost 5,000 lives saved. The net benefits achieved in terms of monetary things, $4.5 roughly billion saved. But then tragedy struck because all of the campaign funds for measles were diverted for the rubella vaccine and vaccination rates for measles dropped. And as a result, they tripled a few years later.
