The Pirate Ship

The Right Brothers is a quintessential American story that actually follows the idea of what we thought Americanism should be, you know, like learning something, working really hard at it, being successful, fighting through. I read Five December's by James Kestrelt won the Edgar Ward for Best Mystery this summer. It opens up in Hawaii in the 1940s and has an old pulpy painted cover. One of the best books I read this year was The Right Brothers by David McCullough.
