The History of Abortion in the 18th Century

Under common law, early abortions were acceptable. They were allowed until the point where a woman felt the fetus move. Having one after that broke common law and moral codes. The first cause to make them illegal came from doctors who, lesley says, were driven by self interest. By the late 18 eightis, most abortions from conception onwards were illegal in all us States.
