The Four Elements of Loss
This fourth element is one that cuts in to this imaginary triangulation between the child, the mother, and the phallus. This incision by the paternal figure is one that results in a loss. Little A is a symbol of the lack that emerges in the wake of the loss known as castration. And all of this is just part of growing up.
