The Horror of the Franco-Hara
I think there's this fabulous conversational tone and the direct address which happens in many Franco-Hara poems. And then, obviously, the poem itself I could say a lot about, but it's also that I think there is this overlay of being right inside the experience of something. She imagines and experiences this whole world of what comes to her through the listening to the music. There's something of horror-ness for me about this kind of immersive experience of the world and the ability to then lay that down in a poem. So, oh, horror was the 1950s, am I right? Yeah.
