Are GLP1s Helping Type 2 Diabetes?

The American Diabetes Association has changed their clinical guidelines as far as how we approach patients who have diabetes. Traditionally, metformin was the first medication that we looked to to treat diabetes. And now when we see patients who have both diabetes and weight, they're actually advising that the GLP1s are our first line even before metformin. So there's a big cardiovascular outcomes trial looking atGLP1s at obesity dosing for patients who have had a history of cardiovascular disease.
