Oedipus and the Sphinx

Sophocles' Oedipus is one of the most famous plays by Freud. It's about a king who curses his two sons to go to war and kill one another in a battle for thieves. Lacan says it also deals with misrecognition, guilt over what you did or didn't do but don't know that you did it. The play takes place some years later as he tries to bring justice on an unknown killer.
