The Perfect Mix of First Person POV and Third Person

I have a really hard time writing a single book, 100% in just first person narrative. I think if you have your main character in first person, I think you can pull it off. But other than that, I wouldn't take it too far. For me, the perfect mix is first person for the main character and third person if you have to have any other characters. In Patterson and I were coast to coast murders, he actually had two first person narratives in there,. which I thought was, I didn't agree with doing that.
