Sophia Coontz: I think one thing that maybe it would be good to talk about now is this idea of carceral feminism, right? Something that comes up in both books. It's very much a kind of top-down version of feminism and plays quite an interesting ideological role in propping up these systems of violence. You saw that around Sarah Everard, for example, when Sarah Everard was murdered, the response from the state was to boost its own mechanisms for violence on the streets. And so we've moved from this category of intersectionality to a critique now of imperialism and racial capitalism.
