We're going to get different perspectives from the private and state school sectors. We'll start with Tim, a former headteacher who says he's not entirely in favour of this move. He was at two schools that couldn't offer an Olympic sized swimming pool. And I'm just not sure that removing charitable status is the answer for several reasons. There are many independent schools that do really phenomenal outreach work. But if they suddenly pull the plug on that, who is going to suffer? Not the parents who can pay 40 grand a year or 48 grand a year, whatever it would be with a 20% uplift.
